Agricultural Economics
Mission: The mission of the program of the Agricultural Economics Department is to build market-oriented graduates with the required skills, through improving their economical, general, technical, administrative knowledge and skills. Establishment: The department has been established in 1976 as a scientific department within the Faculty of Agriculture. Starting from the academic year 1986/1987, the Faculty of Agriculture started to award the degree of B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics. The faculties at the department are responsible for teaching several courses to the department's students and the students from other departments. Program of Agribusiness Management: Starting from the academic year 2008/2009 the Program of Agribusiness Management started to accept student. Student can choose from the first year to attend the program. The program aims at giving the graduates: 1- Scientific thinking and decision making. 2- Analyzing the socio-economic situation and the innovative variables. 3- Communication, and negotiation, and computer skills. 4- Technical skills in the field of agricultural projects. 5- Management and development of the agricultural projects. 6- Self education. 7- Working in teams. For more details about the program please    CLICK HERE Postgraduate Level: The department awards the Master and Ph.D. degrees in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, and Rural Sociology. The department has awarded, so far, about 50 Master degrees and 40 Ph.D. degrees. The department board is used to attract distinguished professors in Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Extension from all Egyptian Universities. It was, always, the main objective of the department to set a research plan and choose the subjects that matter for the Egyptian and regional economy. The department, now, is about to develop a new by-law for the postgraduate level. It also has developed a new curriculum for a Postgraduate Diploma named Agribusiness Management Diploma, the by-law of the diploma in the submission process.
