Geology is one of the basic sciences needed to create a modern renaissance in the community where minerals –such as gold and oil - could be detected – as they constitute the backbone of the renaissance in our time. Also, we can participate in many of the specialized environmental studies. In order to reach those goals, modern methods of research and work must be introduced to link the theoretical study with the field study. In addition to filed training, scientific and field visits to centers of production can help achieve our goals.
The Department of Geology has currently a highly qualified team of faculty members and assistants who are specialized in various fields such as geology, hydrogeology, geophysics, mineralogy, petrology and petroleum geology.
