Fayoum University Participates in the Second Cairo Water Week 2019
Prof. Ahmed Gaber Shedid, President of Fayoum University and Professor of Water Geology participated in activities of the second Cairo Water Week 2019, which was held at Manara Hall in the fifth settlement on Sunday 20/10/2019 under the title: Response to Water Scarcity, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of Egypt in the presence of Eng. Moustafa Madbouly, Egyptian Prime Minister, President of the European Union, Chairman of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and members of the World Water Council, in addition to a large selection of water experts around the world.
This event is one of the largest water events at the local, regional and international level and will be held over five days from 20-24 October 2019 and organized by the Ministry of Water Resources in collaboration with national, regional and international partners. This global forum is an opportunity for academics, scientists, policy makers and experts. Water resources from around the world to present and discuss issues and plans related to responding to water scarcity challenges.
Fayoum University is participating in this global forum for the second year in a row, represented by the Institute of Research and Strategic Studies of the Nile Basin countries, in presence of Prof. Adly Saadawy, Dean of the Institute, Prof. Kamal Ghallab, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Prof. Mahmoud Ali Abdel Fattah, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
This year, the Forum discusses the issue of water scarcity in Egypt and African countries. It also aims to raise awareness of the importance of water and encourage innovations to face water scarcity, in addition to the mechanisms of using non-traditional water resources under water scarcity conditions.
