The 9th International Conference on Sustainable Agricultural Development

Prof. Ashraf Abd El-Hafeez, Acting President of Fayoum University, Prof. Khaled Atallah, Vice President for Education and Students Affairs, and Dr. Mona Abdel Tawab Al Khashab, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, attended the opening session of the 9th International Conference on Sustainable Agricultural Development organized by Faculty of Agriculture during the period from 4th to 6th March 2019 in the presence of Prof. Nevien Al-Sawah, Vice-Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Insaf El-Fall Vice Dean of the faculty for Education and Student Affairs and a number of Deans, Associate Professors, Heads of departments and faculty members in addition to a large number of scientists, specialists and researchers in the agricultural sector from Egypt, Arab and foreign countries.

Prof. Ashraf Abd El-Hafeez welcomed the guests and scientists who were keen to attend and participate during the conference from Egypt and Arab and foreign countries, stressing the role of Faculty of Agriculture in serving both Fayoum University and the local community and its effective impact in achieving the objectives of agricultural, animal and poultry development in Fayoum governorate. Moreover, he expressed his happiness as being one of the graduates of this prestigious and distinguished college, which boasts many professors, scientists and academics in all disciplines and levels, wishing success to the conference and the continuous progress of the college, praising the good organization and the role of the companies and institutions sponsoring the Conference.

Additionally. Prof. Mona Al-Khashab, President of the Conference and Dean of the Faculty, said that since its establishment, it has been able to enrich the agricultural sector and provide it with all the latest developments that benefit the citizens in all aspects. She extended her thanks to the Egyptian, Arab and foreign universities which participated in the conference. There are 21 Egyptian universities, 18 Egyptian research centers and a large number Of the Arab and foreign universities. Iraq is the largest participant from the Arab countries with 26 universities and 11 research centers followed by Algeria 4 universities, 3 research centers and Saudi Arabia two universities, adding that the conference is witnessing for the first time the participation of universities from Yemen, Syria, Jordan, China, Lithuania and the United States, adding that the participation contributes on many dimensions and distinguishes them and highlights the holy presence of scientists and outstanding sponsors.

In the same respect, Prof. Nevien Al-Sawah said that the university is waiting for the first week of March, year after year, to renew the meeting this year at the 9th International Conference in the presence of a group of scientists and representatives of a number of scientific and research institutions from inside and outside Egypt with participation of 365 scientists in the field of agriculture. A total of 163 research papers will be discussed. Scientists from 64 universities and 33 research centers distributed over 34 scientific sessions, headed by a constellation of scientists, will discuss various agricultural fields through 8 axes of agricultural development, including agriculture, Its engineering and production of plants in various disciplines and animal production, poultry and food science and technology and microbiology and genetics.
