Cooperation Protocol between Anti-Addiction and Treating Fund and Faculty of Medicine

Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ghada Wally, Minister of Social Solidarity and Prof. Ahmed Gaber Shadid, President of Fayoum University witnessed signing of a cooperation protocol between Anti-Addiction and Treating Fund at the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Fayoum University Faculty of Medicine to establish an Addiction Treatment Center at Fayoum University On Sunday, 29 September 2019 at the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
The protocol was signed by Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Fayoum University, and Dr. Amr Othman, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity and Director of the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Safaa El Din Arafa, General Director of University Hospitals, Fayoum University.
Prof. Ahmed Gaber Shedid stated that the signing of the protocol aims to establish an addiction treatment center with a capacity of 28 beds in Fayoum University Hospital for the treatment of addiction patients in the governorate.
He added that the fund for combating and treating addiction and abuse will support the establishment of the center with an amount of 660 thousand Egyptian pounds. The fund will also provide financial support for the treatment of addiction patients through the hot line through outpatient clinics and internal departments. The University provides expert doctors in the field of combating and treating addiction and abuse.
