Under the patronage of H.E. Eng .Maged George Minister of State for Environmental Affairs, H.E. Professor Ahmed El-Gohary, President of Fayoum University, and Prof. Abdel Hamid Abdel Tawab Sabry, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Faculty of Dar Aluloum organizes the 3rd International Conference for Community Service and Environmental Development entitled "Environment in Arab Societies through the Ages" during the period December 8-10, 2009.

I. Environment and Linguistic and Literary Studies
-Environmental impact in linguistic studies (Grammar - prosody - geographical Linguistics - Dictionary - semantics – dialects).
-Environmental impact in literary studies (poetry – story – novel – play – criticism – rhetoric)
II. Environment in Islamic Studies
- Preservation of the environment in Islamic law through the ages.
- Environment and Objectives of Islamic Law (Fiqh al-Maqasid al-Shari'ah).
- Aspects of the Prophet's Sunnah in keeping the environment.
- The attitude of Islamic law to the environmental pollutants that threaten humanity, directly and indirectly through the ages.
- Environment in the writings of historians, geographers and travelers through the ages.
- Environment in the writings of jurists, philosophers and thinkers.

Registration Fees
- The Conference fee
covers attending sessions, conference publications, publishing the papers in the
Conference Book and accommodation.
- LE 600 (for Egyptians) to participate with a paper on one of the conference
topics.
- LE 300 (for Egyptians) to attend as an observer.
- $ 350 (for non-Egyptians) to participate with a paper
exclusive of
accommodation.
- $ 600 (for
non-Egyptians) to participate with a paper inclusive accommodation.
-$250 (for
non-Egyptians) to attend as an observer inclusive accommodation.
- Conference fees as

Abstracts: Before the end of August 2009.
- Submission of
Full Paper: Before the beginning of October 2009.

papers to be e-mailed or sent on a CD.
-Full papers must be submitted as word processing files (not PDFs)
and typed in Simplified Arabic 14 pp.
-Number of pages
should not exceed 40 pages; LE 20 will be charged for every extra page.
