In its monthly meeting No. 80 dated January 23rd , 2013, the Fayoum University Council, chaired by President of Fayoum University Professor Abdel Hamid Abdel Tawab Sabry, took the following actions:

• The Council approved the December 2012 Meeting Minute.
The University Council approved awarding the following students master's degrees:
-Hamdy Amin Mohamed Abdel-Rasul, Faculty of Dar Al Uloom;
-Mostafa Sayed Ali Ibrahim, Faculty of Dar Al Uloom;
-Eman Sadek Abdel Gayed, Faculty of Education;
-Amal Galal Mohammad Morsy, Faculty of Arts;
-Walid Hussein Ahmed Mohammad, Faculty of Agriculture;
-Mohammad Ahmed Fathy Mahmoud, Faculty of Agriculture;
-Abdel Moniem Maher Abdel Hamid, Faculty of Agriculture;
-Ayman Hatem Mohammad Al-Nadaf, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels;

The Council approved awarding the following students the PhD Degrees:
-Eman Hassan Abdullah Abdullah, Faculty of Arts;

-Hosam al-Din Mahmoud Mostafa, Faculty of Agriculture;
-Maysa Fathy Abdel Latif Ahmed Ibrahim, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels.
The Council approved:

• Awarding the Graduate Diploma Degree in Arabic Language and Islamic Sciences (July Session 2012) to 17 students of the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom.

• Awarding the Graduate Diploma Degree in Arabic Language and Islamic Sciences (September Session 2012) to 6 students of the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom.

• Awarding the B.A Degree in Education (Major: Early Childhood Education) for November Session 2012.

Appointments and Promotions
- The Council approved promoting Dr. Ahmed Farouk Mohammad Saleh, Fields of Social Work Department, Faculty of Social Work, to the position of Professor.

- The Council approved promoting Dr. Mohammad Gamal al-Din Abdel Aziz, Fields of Social Work Department, Faculty of Social Work, to the position of Professor.

- The Council approved promoting Dr. Saber Elsayed Mohammad Ali, Islamic Law Department, Faculty of Dar Al Uloom, to the position of Professor.

- The Council approved granting Dr. MostafaMohammad Kasem Zidan, assistant professor, Fields of Social Work Department, Faculty of Social Work, the academic title of professor.

- The Council approved appointing Dr. Mohammad Ahmed Al-Anwar Mohammad, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, as Lecturer.

- The Council approved appointing Dr. Rabie Kamal Mahmoud Al-Roby, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Faculty of Education, as Lecturer.

- The Council approved appointing Dr. Tamer Shabaan Desoky Elsayed, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Faculty of Education, as Lecturer.

- The Council approved appointing Dr. Mona Ahmed Abdel Moniem Al-Akad, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Ear, Nose and Throat, Faculty of Medicine, as Lecturer.

- The Council approved appointing Dr. Mohammad Attia Mahmoud Mohammad, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, as Lecturer.

- The Council approved appointing Dr. Mohammad Desoky Mohammad Hassan, Assistant Lecturer, Department of History, Faculty of Arts, as Lecturer.

- The Council approved appointing Dr. Abdel Latif Fayez Ali, Assistant Lecturer, Department of History, Faculty of Arts, as Lecturer.


*** Decisions Related to Postgraduate Studies and Research
The University Council approved the addendum of the internal bylaw of the Institute for Nile States Strategic Studies and Researches.

*** Decisions Related to Community Service and Environment Development
-The University Council approved changing the name of the Central Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture into the Environment and Food Pollutants and taking the required procedures in this regard.

-The University Council approved changing the bylaw of the Center of Alumni Affairs along with adding Prof. Vice-President for Education and Students' Affairs as well as the Director of the Management Information Systems Project (MIS) to the membership of the center.

Miscellaneous Topics
-The University Council approved changing the name of the Endowment Fund for Scientific and Technological Research Account into the account of the Charitable Investment for Scientific and Technological Research Account.

-The University Council approved opening the Fitness Hall of the Faculty of Engineering.

-The University Council approved awarding the research papers submitted and published during the period from January 2011 until December 2012 the Excellence Award in Academic Research.

Contributions
-The University Council accepted the contribution made by Prof. Sanaa Harun, director of the Nematology and Biotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, who contributed a set of books and magazines
the Fayoum University's Central Library.
