 In its session no. 17 dated April 2007, Fayoum University council presided over by Prof. Dr. Gala M. Said, president of Fayoum University approved of :
1 - decided to name grandstand (1) in Faculty of Education as Dr.Sofi Abu Talib because he was the president of Cairo University during the foundation of university education in Fayoum Governorate. Also, it decided to name grandstand (3) as the late Dr. Ahmed Khalil Ali as he was the first dean of Faculty of Education. Grandstand (4) is named as the late Dr.Abu El- wafa El- teftazani as he was the second dean of the faculty and the first vice-president of Cairo University for Fayoum and Bani Suef Branch in 1982.The decision has been made in appreciation of their great efforts for the university and Education Faculty.
2- Fayoum University Council presided over by Dr.Galal Mustafa Said, President of Fayoum University, consented to set up a Faculty of Nursing to be the fifteenth faculty in the university .Moreover, the council consented to begin the second term practical exams on May 19, and the academic exams on May 26.
3- For the first time in the Egyptian universities the council approved of granting bonuses for the faculty who will be promoted in the appointed times .The bonuses will be as follows : 5000 for a professor, L.E. 3000 for an assistant professor, L.E.2000 for an assistant lecturer, and L.E. 1000 for a lecturer.
4-President of Fayoum University announced that the council consented to establish The Linguistic Training Centre in Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom in order to raise the linguistic standard and renew the linguistic knowledge of media men ,teachers ,officials and preachers .Besides ,training courses will be held in the fields of elocution , oratory ,and lingual and literary redaction . He added that the council approved of appointing three professors, two assistant professors and six lecturers.
