    The 
	Fayoum University Council, chaired by Professor Abdel Hamid Abdel Tawab 
	Sabry, President of Fayoum University, took the following actions at their 
	meeting No. 72 dated 30/5/2012: 
	 
	-The Council approved the March Meeting Minute dated 30/4/2012 after 
	revisiting the Decision No. 48 regarding including Prof. Dean of the Fayoum 
	Faculty of Science and Former Director of the open Education Center (OEC) to 
	the Board of the OEC to be as follows:  
	Prof. University President - Chair  
	Prof. Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Research - Member 
	Prof. Vice-President for Community Service and Environment Development - 
	Member  
	Prof. Vice-President for Education and Students' Affairs - Member  
	Prof. Director of the Fayoum Open Education Center - Member

	-The Council approved the recommendations submitted 
	during the Deans' Council dated May 16, 2012. 
	Recommendations included the following: 
	 
	1-The decisions to be made by the specific councils are not binding until 
	being reviewed and approved by either the University President or the 
	University Council. 
	2- Each faculty is entitled to nominate 3: 5 of its faculty members to join 
	the University Committee of wise Men as well as the Faculty's Committee of 
	Wise Men.  
	3-All exams results are to be released via the MIS Project and the 
	Integrated University Management Systems (IUMS).  
	4-The MIS Coordinator shall be added to the Special Control and he must be 
	present during exams' time.  
	5-Holding graduation ceremonies at the faculties headquarters or at Saad 
	Nassar Hall. 
	6-Holding no exams on 16/17/2012 due to the run-off presidential elections. 
	7-Clarifying all instructions issued by the SCU and the University Council.
	 
	8-With regard to the end-year exams for the academic year 2011/2012, the 
	University President stressed the following:  
	 
	-Providing well-lit and ventilated halls;  
	-Any student who cheats during examinations leaves himself or herself 
	exposed to disciplinary and his/her test will be cancelled;  
	-All faculties should send all exam timetables to the Office of the 
	Vice-President for Education and Students' Affairs;  
	-The Supreme Medical Committee is responsible for endorsing all medical 
	reports of students' medical excuses.
  
 
-The Council approved granting Hanan Abdel Salam Abdel Hamid, Faculty of 
	Science, master's degree. 
	-The Council approved granting Hani Bakry Ali Goda, Faculty of Dar Al Uloom, 
	master's degree. 
	-The Council approved granting Abdullah Amar Ismael el Sayed, Faculty of Dar 
	Al Uloom, PhD degree.  
	-The Council approved granting Hamed Mohamed Abdel Hamid Moftah, Faculty of 
	Education, master's degree.  
	-The Council approved granting Soad Sayed Nasr Refaay, Faculty of Education, 
	master's degree. 
	-The Council approved granting Mubarak Hady Ades Saleh Al-Nomran, Faculty of 
	Education, PhD degree. 
	-The Council approved granting Heba Mohamed Shaker Mohamed, Faculty of 
	Science, master's degree. 
	-The Council approved granting Hezba Omar Dakroury El Sayed, Faculty of 
	Science, master's degree.  
	-The Council approved granting Salwa Mohamed Salah Eldin Abdel Fattah, 
	Faculty of Science, PhD degree. 
	-The Council approved granting Ali Abdullah Ali Mekdad, Faculty of 
	Agriculture, PhD degree.  
	-The Council approved granting Mohamed Antar Mohamed Ibrahim, Faculty of 
	Tourism and Hotels, PhD degree.  
  
	*The Council also approved the Terms of Reference Contract concluded between 
	the Engineering Research and Consultation Center (ERCC), Faculty of 
	Engineering, and the Fayoum Directorate of Youth and Sport.  
  
	*The Council approved the Agreement No. 14 of 2011 which was signed between 
	the Engineering Research and Consultation Center (ERCC), Faculty of 
	Engineering, Fayoum University, and the Ministry of Transport regarding 
	providing consultations for refurbishing the Fayoum Railway Station and some 
	other stations in Upper Egypt. 
 
	The Council was briefed on the following:  
	-The letter which was sent by the Minister of Higher Education regarding the 
	Cabinet's approval of increasing salary funding for faculty members.  
  
	-The statement ,which was delivered by the University President before the 
	Education Committee of the People's Assembly on Saturday 26/5/2012, in which 
	he called for expediting the issuance of the new pay scale for the faculty 
	members and their assistants. He also suggested postponing the discussion of 
	the new Universities' Organization Law after conducting a survey among the 
	faculty members and their assistants in this regard. 
 
	-The Letter which was sent by the Secretary-general of the SCU with regard 
	to the proposed Internal Regulation of the Faculty of Early Childhood 
	Education (Open Education).  
  
	-The report which was submitted by Prof. Farid Awad Hedar, Vice-President 
	for Community Service and Environment Development about the conference of 
	Economic Impact of Arab Spring Revolutions on Sunday 6/5/2012 in Cairo. He 
	summed up the recommendations made by the conference as follows:  
  
	-Activating the role of the Arab Funds to achieve economic development in 
	Arab Spring countries, in particular, an in the whole Arab World, in 
	general.  
	-Creating Arab development supporting for initiating economic integration.
	 
	-Giving due care to establishing small and medium-scale projects in the Arab 
	World. 
	-Opening more air and sea ports among the Arab countries and developing 
	deeper links through an integrated transport network.  
	-Developing a just pay scale.  
	-Reconsidering the subsidy system to make sure that state subsidies reach 
	low- and medium-income families. 
 	
-The University President asked the Council Members to notify him with their 
	suggestions with regard with the New Universities' Regulations Law. He also 
	declared the formation of the University Committee which would be in charge 
	of preparing the University's Suggestions. The committee is chaired by the

	-The Council approved appointing Prof. Abdullah Mohamed Azabawy, Professor

	Emeritus, Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, as

	-The Council approved appointing Prof. Mohammed Mohammed Husein Abdella,

	-The Council approved promoting Dr. Hala AbdElMagid Moslem Shahin, Assistant 
	Professor, Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, to the 
	position of Professor. 
 
	-The Council approved promoting Dr. Nashwa Mamdouh Samra, Assistant 
	Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, to the position of 
	Professor. 
 
	-The Council approved promoting Dr. Ghada Mohamed Wafik Abu Bakr, Lecturer, 
	Department of Tourism Studies, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, to the 
	position of Assistant Professor. 
 
	-The Council approved promoting Mohamed Abdel-Hamid Mohamed Nassif, 
	Assistant Lecturer, Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, to the 
	position of Lecturer. 
 
	-The Council approved promoting Amro AbdElGhany AbdElGied Saleh, Assistant 
	Lecturer, Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Faculty of 
	Medicine, to the position of Lecturer. 
 
	-The Council approved promoting Ali Gaber Mohamed, Assistant Lecturer, 
	Department of Soils and Water, Faculty of Agriculture, to the position of 
	Lecturer. 
 
	-The Council approved promoting Hossam Mahmoud Mohammed, Assistant Lecturer, 
	Department of Methods of Social Work, Faculty of Social Work, to the 
	position of Lecturer. 
 
	-The Council approved promoting Mohammed Mahmoud Mohammed Nasir, Assistant 
	Lecturer, Department of Art Education, Faculty of Specific Education, to the 
	position of Lecturer. 
	 
	-The Council approved that the University and the concerned faculty will 
	equally bear the costs of travel tickets of the students who are planned to 
	be sent to receive training at some Arab universities during the period from 
	1/7 through 1/8/2012.  
  
	-The Council approved altering the Development of Students' Assessment 
	Systems Project into the Development of Students' Assessment Systems Center 
	as a specialized unit.
