Services center for students with disabilities at Fayoum University
The global population estimates that more than 15% of the world's population suffers from some form of disability most of them. Live under poor conditions suffering of ignorance in health and education
In Egypt, the government has started to involve most of disabled student in higher education to meet the diverse needs and to support the transition from higher education to quality opportunities that can affect a better standard of life for them.
But despite government efforts and various programs, information is still limited about how students with disabilities can integrate into Egyptian society, and institutions of higher education, and it turns out that despite all the available services provided, there are still great challenges regarding expansion of these services due to various factors including Lack of accurate data of special needs people, The policies and rights stipulated in the law are not actually applied, Governmental services that provided for them not available most of the time, Lack of financial resources allocated to them and Weak coordination of services, insufficient staff, and weak competencies of staff working in their services
So our project will focus mainly in establishing serves center for disabled student with specific objectives and goals
Our Target group of students with disability at Fayoum university:
1- Students with specific learning difficulties.
2- Students with motor disabilities / cerebral palsy.
3- Students with visual impairment.
4- Students with hearing disabilities.
5- Students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
6- Students with psychological disorders (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression).
7- Students with chronic diseases (diabetes, cancer, ....).
8- Students with temporary disabilities (fracture, injury, ...).
