Fayoum University: The comprehensive convoy provides examination and treatment services to 904 residents of the village of Barisha in the Youssef Al-Siddiq Center

In Fayoum, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organized a comprehensive convoy in cooperation with the Decent Life Foundation, the College of Medicine, the College of Dentistry, the Directorate of Health, and the Safe Women’s Unit at the College of Medicine, today, Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the health unit in the village of Barisha, Youssef Al-Siddiq Center, in the presence of Dr. Heba Hussein Abdel Fattah, Director of the Safe Women’s Unit at the College of Medicine, and Prof. Muhammad Ali, Director of the Conferences and Seminars Department in the Community Service Sector, participated in implementing the caravan
/ Ahmed Gamal, Deputy Coordinator of a Decent Life in Fayoum, and the team of the Decent Life Foundation, and Dr. Nevin Shaaban, Director of Basic Care at the Health Directorate in Fayoum.
Prof. Dr. Assem Al-Essawi, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, stated that the comprehensive caravan for Fayoum University comes based on the university’s role and the mission of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector in providing local community service, providing various medical services, and raising the necessary awareness regarding societal issues.
His Excellency added that the medical convoy included a distinguished elite of doctors in the specialties of internal medicine, children, gynecology, dermatology, teeth and bones. A medical examination was carried out on 904 cases, including 228 internal medicine cases, 197 children’s cases, 78 gynecology cases, 123 orthopedic cases, 67 dental cases, and 211 skin cases. The necessary treatment was given to all cases, as the General Administration of Community Service and Development participated in providing the necessary treatment. For the caravan.
His Excellency added that the Safe Women’s Unit at the Faculty of Medicine participated in raising awareness during the comprehensive convoy to introduce the role of the unit, where Dr. Heba Hussein Rahim, Director of the Safe Women’s Unit at Fayoum University, raised awareness of the Safe Women’s Unit at the University Hospital and its role in providing integrated and comprehensive health services for cases of violence against women and providing first-line support, including
Psychological first aid, medical response, urgent medical treatment, and confidential documentation. The team also raised awareness among the villagers about the forms of violence against women. The manifestations of violence against women in the Egyptian countryside and the impact of verbal violence on raising children were discussed. The phenomenon of early marriage and its harms, the harms of circumcision, and awareness of the extent of the impact of violence against women on women, the family, and society were discussed. The number of women and girls who were educated reached 50 girls and women.
His Excellency confirmed that Fayoum University will continue to organize medical, nursing, awareness-raising and veterinary convoys during the year 2025 in a number of villages in the centers of Fayoum Governorate.
