The Faculty of Dentistry is witnessing the discussion of a master's thesis in the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics.

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Arfa Sabry Hassan, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Lamia Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty, the dissertation submitted by researcher Salma Hatem Ahmed was discussed. The dissertation was titled: "Fracture Strength Analysis of 3D-Printed Hybrid Ceramic Single Crowns with Different Curing Times and Hydrothermal Storage: An In Vitro Study." The supervisory committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Alia Ibrahim Mahrous, Professor and Head of the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics (principal supervisor) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Narmin Nagi, Assistant Professor of Fixed Prosthodontics (co-supervisor). The discussion and judging committee consisted of: Prof. Dr. Atef Shaker, Professor of Fixed Prosthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University and former Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Cairo University (Chairman and examiner), Asst. Prof. Dr. Haitham Amr, Assistant Professor of Fixed Prosthodontics (Examiner), and Prof. Dr. Alia Ibrahim Mahrous, Professor and Head of the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics (Principal Supervisor and Examiner). And Asst. Prof. Dr. Narmin Nagi, Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics (co-supervisor and examiner), at exactly eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in the college seminar hall (new building) The thesis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of 3D-printed hybrid ceramic single crowns, which could contribute to the development of treatment methods. After a comprehensive public discussion with the researcher, the judges commended the quality of the researcher and the thesis, which they consider an important step towards enhancing specialized research in the field of fixed prosthodontics.
