Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University; Prof. Dr. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hosny Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty of Social Work, the Faculty organized an awareness seminar titled “Be Positive… Participate” on Sunday, 27/7/2025.

The seminar was held within the University’s vision and mission to promote national belonging, instill political and social awareness among students, and enhance the social responsibility of educational institutions.

In the context of the upcoming constitutional entitlement—the Senate elections—Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hosny Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty, held an extensive meeting with teaching assistants and administrative staff, in the presence of Mr. Abdel Fattah El-Meligy, General Director of the Faculty, to activate academic roles for effective participation in this event.

The meeting began by emphasizing the crucial role of the Faculty in supporting the national orientations of the Egyptian state and actively shaping students’ awareness of national and societal issues, as they are the true nucleus of change and development.

He stressed that universities are not only places for theoretical knowledge but also educational and cultural spaces that effectively contribute to building collective awareness and fostering positive citizenship.

The seminar discussed in detail the distribution of roles among organizational teams, coordination mechanisms between teaching assistants and administrative staff, and optimal means to ensure quality implementation and effective communication with students, highlighting the importance of teamwork, discipline, and professionalism.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hosny emphasized that the Faculty seeks to foster a culture of responsible political participation as an indicator of societal maturity and democratic awareness, aligning with the moral and national goals of university education.

He noted that the Faculty operates with a strategic vision integrating educational and social dimensions, and that fostering positive attitudes among students towards national issues is a long-term investment in building an aware and engaged Egyptian citizen.

He stressed that the current phase requires joint efforts of all educational institution components to present a positive model that strengthens society’s trust in the University’s role as a comprehensive developmental institution participating in all activities aimed at national stability.

The Dean praised the commitment of teaching assistants and administrative staff, highlighting their dedication and institutional culture that values work and positive change. He called for sustaining this cooperative spirit and creating innovative initiatives to address students’ awareness with a modern, realistic, and credible language.

The meeting concluded with thanks to all attendees, stressing that the success of any event depends not only on good organization but also on the conviction that all staff are partners in building the Faculty and shaping its societal identity, and that every effort, no matter how small, is a brick in the greater edifice titled “The University in the Service of the Nation.”
