About Department
Department of Islamic Legislation is committed to teaching students the sources of Islamic law and the value of each of these sources, as well as the emergence of Islamic jurisprudence, its schools and history .
From the very beginning of the first year, students are trained on the proper recitation of the Holy Quran as they study a subject called Tajwīd meaning elocution. They also study all other related acts of worship, namely; purity, prayers and fasting, Zakāh or "alms for the poor" and pilgrimage. Students also study personal affairs which include marriage, alimony, custody, inheritance and all that through the Islamic jurisprudence, with an illustration of the law options .
