| The Faculty of Dar Al Uloom at Fayoum University has chosen Maamon Abdul Halim Mohamed as its new Dean. Maamon was declared dean of the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom, after winning elections held on Monday 30 January 2012, the Elections Committee stated. The poll was held on the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom Conference Room from 11 am to 1:00 pm. Maamon won 32 votes, while Professor Salah Nawar got 7 votes. A third contender, Professor Abdel Moniem Abu Zayd, garnered 17 votes. The fourth contender, Professor Mohammad Abuel-Magd, got only 7 votes. It is worth mentioning that Maamon Abdul Halim is Professor of Grammar and Prosody at the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom, Fayoum University.
