Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) announces that the International Balzan Foundation invites nominations for their Prizes in the scientific and humanistic fields. There will be four Balzan Prizes of 750,000 Swiss francs each.

The General Prize Committee announced that the 2012 Balzan Prizes will be awarded in the following fields:
-Solid Earth Sciences, with emphasis on interdisciplinary research
-Epigenetics.
