EGYPT-SOUTH AFRICA JOINT SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH PROGRAMME

Call for Research Proposals – 2012/13

Under the Agreement for Cooperation in Science and Technology signed between The Republic of South Africa and the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Ministry of Scientific Research invites joint research project proposals in the disciplines announced at the RDI Website:

Successful projects in South Africa will be funded up to a maximum amount of R300,000.00 over two years. Egyptians projects will receive the equivalent in the national currency.

Eligibility
The joint application for funding must include two Principal Investigators. The South African and Egyptian applicant must be employed at a recognized research institution or higher education such as a university, university of technology or science council in South Africa and Egypt. The Principal Investigators from both countries must be in possession of a PhD and will be responsible for the scientific and financial reporting, as well as other technical and progress co-ordination of the project. They will also be required to submit annual and final reports to their respective funding agencies upon completion of the project. Researchers employed at private companies will not be allowed to apply under this program.


The Egyptian Application :
Application forms for proposal submission may be obtained from the Ministry of Scientific Research in Egypt (www.rdi.eg.net) or from the Ministry of Scientific Research, 101 Kasr El-Aini St. (Scientific Cooperation, 2nd Floor) for our Egyptian applicants. The original and two copies of the project proposal plus one CD should include Curriculum Vitaes of the Principal Investigators and must be received by 31August 2012 by hand or post as well as via e-mail.
