The British Council, British Embassy and Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education are now inviting applications for Newton-Mosharafa PhD scholarships and placements.

PhD scholarships will provide full funding (for up to four years) for students who wish to pursue their PhD research at UK universities.

PhD placements will fund PhD students at Egyptian universities to spend one year at a UK university undertaking research.

Research areas should focus on one of the priority areas of Newton-Mosharafa:
• Sustainable water management
• Sustainable food production
• Energy
• Affordable and inclusive healthcare
• Cultural heritage and archaeology

Applicants should apply through the Ministry of Higher Education Website. Deadline for receiving applications is 31 December 2014.
