Prof. Dr. Galal M. Said, president of Fayoum University, inaugurated Student Unions Training Course at Conferences Hall at the Dome Building in Fayoum University. It is worth mentioning that the course is to be from Saturday, 26 to Wednesday, 30 of January 2008.the purpose of the course is leaders' preparation all the Egyptian universities.
The celebration began with a word delivered by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yusuf el-Kady, vice-president for Education and Students and the supervisor over the course in which he welcomed the audiences. He said," we are proud of you". He also voiced his full trust in these students who are future leaders adding that they are able to challenge the hardships and obstacles towards a bright future for themselves and their beloved country.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Galal M. Said, president of Fayoum University, welcomed students of faculties of Economy and Politics- Tourism and Hotels – Media – Archaeology – Alsun –Tourism Institutes who are participants in the course. "This is a suitable chance to discuss the important issues in society as well as those related to the young" said the president. He also talked about Fayoum Governorate as a pretty oasis which is inhabited by 2, 6 million people; it is regard as one of the tourist governorates in Egypt. He added that the city of Fayoum is an oasis noted for its agricultural production and tourism; it has an irrigation system different from that in any of Egypt governorates. In each world museum, there is a portrait called "Fayoum Faces".
After that, there was a discussion between the president and students. For his turn, the president answered all questions posed by the audiences. The questions were about Fayoum University, its educational system and its role in enhancing the governorate. The president assured that the university has given much to the local community and has set out a plan to develop the university surrounding area. There is no effort to save to open the educational hospital equipped with the latest medical equipment which will serve the community, of course.
The discussion had been in a friendly atmosphere. For their turn, the audiences voiced their admiration with Fayoum University and the hospitality they met.
After that, the students headed to attend a seminar entitled "Human Rights " which contained the following:
In the frame of the training course for members of student unions of the Faculties of Mass Media, Politics and Economy, Archeology and Languages held in Fayoum University to January 30, a cultural seminar on human rights in the national and international laws and agreements was held. Dr. Gamal Abdel-Rahman, professor of Law in Faculty of Law, Beni Suef University participated in the seminar and gave a lecture in it.
Dr. Gamal Abdel-Rahman presented the International Announcement for Human Rights issued by the United Nations in 1948, the development of the concept of human rights in the western, the socialist and the developing countries and the extension of the concept to include the right to development especially after the end of the cold war between the world power blocs in the mid of the eighties of the 20th century.
