A seminar by both Sheikh. Mohamed al-Senrawy and Anba. Ebram on "Religious Tolerance "

Sheikh/Mohamed al-Senrawy, the religious counselor of the governorate, Sheikh/Wageh al-Shemy and Anba/Ebram, bishop of Mary Gerges Church in Tamia, Fayoum, gave a seminar on religious tolerance in Convention Hall in Fayoum University.

"In the Name of Allah, and All praise is to Him, and peace and blessings of Allah be upon His Prophet Muhammad ", with these words Sheikh/Wageh al-Shemy began his speech. He also thanked the university president, the faculty staff and the attendants very much. He said that we have been living together in a peaceful country over the last fourteen centuries. Our Great Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, invited us to adopt tolerance and he taught us this practically and theoretically. This is apparent in our prophet's behavior that he kindly treated the people whose religion was not Islam as he paid visits to their patients and offered condolence to them.

He added that all Egyptians are brothers. In order to achieve progress in Egypt and the other Arab countries, we should enhance and value our education and knowledge as scholars are alive whereas other people are dead. The Bishop began his speech saying" In the name of Allah, the One, Who we all worship in Egypt under the umbrella of love which covers all the Egyptians". He also thanked the university president and all workers in the university for their kind hospitality.

He added "When we talk about religious tolerance, we talk about Egypt as it is the great love which embraces all its citizens. Egypt was the first to know monotheism, worship and abiding by the religion". He demonstrated that Egypt is a great country that it had received the Jews and respected their religious traditions, habits and spiritual values; it hosted the Christians in Alexandria, which was the source of this religion. It also hosted and embraced Islam. We all live in Egypt and worship one God.

In his speech about Islamic tolerance, Sheikh/Mohamed al-Senrawy, said that the Holy Quran and our Prophet's traditions invite us to live in peace together, Muslims and Christians.

Training Course Closing Ceremony

In the closing ceremony, members of student union of Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Fayoum University, gave a concert contained displaying some talents such as singing, poetry, imitation and religious songs. At the end of the ceremony, there was a documentary on about Fayoum Governorate and its sights.
