On Wednesday 7 May 2008, the Grand Convention Hall hosted the end of academic year student activities festival. The festival was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yusuf Al Qadi, vice president for Education and Students and the acting president. Prof. Dr. Samir Seif Al Yazzal, dean of Faculty of Agriculture and the activities general coordinator, Prof. Dr. Adel Farid Tobia, dean of Faculty of Archaeology, Prof. Dr. Sayed Saleh Sayed, Mrs. Nadia Aref, general director of Youth Welfare, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Al Rabiey, Prof. Dr. Abdel Hadi Ahmed Abdel Razek and Prof. Dr.Salah Mohamed Gomaa were present. A number of students from all faculties attended the festival
The festival commenced with reciting some verses of the Holy Quran, then the vice president handed the cups to the representatives of the student activities who won all over the university as follows:
First: Sports Activity
Faculty of Education: Winner Faculty of Social Work: Runner-up Faculty of Specific Education: Third
Second: Social Activity
Faculty of Engineering: Winner Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies: Runner-up Faculty of Education: Third
Third: Student Groups Activity
Faculty of Specific Education: Winner Faculty of Social Work: Runner-up Faculty of Education: Third
Fourth: Cultural Activity
Faculty of Social Work: Winner
Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies: Runner-up
Faculty of Education: Third
Fifth: Artistic Activity
Faculty of Agriculture: Winner
Faculty of Social Work: Second
Faculty of Specific Education: Third
On the other hand, the Student Activities Shield went to Faculty of Social Work. 370 awards will be distributed to the winners as follows:
*Winner: 100 awards
*Runner-up:200 awards
*Third: 80 awards
At the end, a documentary about the achievements of the General Administration for Youth Welfare during the academic year 2007/2008 was on. Also, some presentations were shown as follows:
*A poem about Prophet Muhammad "peace and blessings of Allah be upon him"- by/Kholoud
*A vernacular poem Child's Cry - by/Douaa
*Religious Singing- by/Mahmoud Sayed
*Musical show - by the university chorus and Faculty of Tourism chorus
