- From July20 to July25 2008 Fayoum University participated in the 1^st Egyptian Universities Environmental Forum ( EUEF)held by Mansoura University, in Students' Gamasa Camp .  

- Fayoum University ranked second after Mansoura University which came first. For his part, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Magdy El Gohary, President of Fayoum University, voiced his happiness with that great achievement and the effective participation of Community Service Sector in the university forums. He also pledged to meet the students and honor them. Moreover, Prof. Dr. Abdel Hamid abdel Tawab Sabry, Vice President for Community Service and Environment Development, affirmed that these forums aim to strengthen cooperation ties among the Egyptian universities and enrich the spirit of loyalty and belonging in students. He added that the seven-student delegation of Fayoum University did well in the competitions and seminars which resulted in obtaining top positions in most competitions. Namely, Fayoum University came first in caricature competition, second in Sketch competition, second in oil painting, second in poetry, second in environmental information competition, third in sports competitions and won Excellence Cup in environmental awareness campaigns.
