The University Council resolved to approve the minutes of the meeting of Council held on 26/3/2014 as a true and correct record.

* The University Council resolved to grant Dr. Masoud Ibrahim Mohamed, lecturer, Department of Industrial Studies, Faculty of Engineering, the academic title of "Assistant Professor".

* The University Council resolved to grant Dr. Taha Abdel Magid Hanafy, Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, the academic title of "Professor".

Education and Students' Affairs
* The University Council resolved to initiate a Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and notify the Supreme Council of Universities (SCU) with this decree.

* The University Council resolved to approve the study plan of the four stages of the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom, and notify the Supreme Council of Universities (SCU) with this decree.

* The University Council resolved to approve the proposal mooted by the Education and Students' Affairs Council on 22/4/2014 as to:
1-Adopting the decree issued by the SCU to modify differentiation rules when appointing new demonstrators;
2-The General Department of Legal Affairs is requested to submit the lawsuits filed by students against the University to Prof. Vice President for Education and Students' Affairs before pleading.

* The University Council resolved to approve days of 29/4/2014 and 30/4/2014 as exam days for Computers and Information students.

Community Service and Environment Development Affairs:
*The University Council resolved to approve a proposal to create a unit of excellence for Geoinformatics under the umbrella of the Development Research and Consultancy Center (DRCC).

Graduate Studies and Research Affairs
* The University Council resolved to create a journal of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education for Educational and Psychological Studies (A biannual scientific journal).

* The University Council resolved to endorse the credit hour internal bylaw of graduate studies of the Faculty of Specific Education and notify the SCU with this decree.

* The University Council resolved to endorse the modifications made by the Science Sector on 20/3/2014 regarding initiate a solar power diploma under the umbrella of the joint projects between Fayoum University and the European Union.

* The University Council resolved to nominate Prof. Mohamed Abdel Satar, professor of Islamic Archaeology and Sohag University's vice president for Education and Students' Affairs for the 2014 King Faisal International Prize for Islamic Studies.

Miscellaneous Topics
*The University Council resolved to approve the proposal made by Prof. Director of the University's Projects Management Unit (PMU) that each faculty member who is interested in submitting a project proposal to any of the grant providers must submit it to the PMU to make sure that it is aligned to the University Strategic Plan.

Donations and Contributions
*The University Council resolved to accept the donation made by the Alexandria National Refining and Petrochemicals Co. in the form of an X-ray scan device, and a Surface Area Analyzer, which are worth LE 500,000.
