In its meeting No. 48 dated 27/1/2010, Fayoum University Council, chaired by Professor Ahmed El-Gohary, President of Fayoum University, has approved:

*Deducting a day bonus from the first term bonus (January 2010) from the teaching staff, assistants and employees for the purchase of blankets, essential food items to be sent with a delegation composed of young teaching staff members, their assistants and representatives of the Fayoum University Students' Union to the province of North Sinai, in a convoy on behalf of the Fayoum University to deepen their sense of belonging and to maximize their participation in national issues.

*Naming both of Mr. / Montaser Thabet Tadros, Director General of the Directorate of Culture in Fayoum, and Mr. / Awais Said Abdullah, Director General of EEAA in Fayoum Governorate, members of the Board of Community Service and Environmental Development from outside for two years starting from the academic year 2009 – 2010.

*Forming a committee composed of deans of faculties of Education, Early Childhood Education and Arts to study the idea of establishing a Department of Mental Health at the University level; if done, there will be one department responsible for studying mental health at Fayoum University.

*Appointing Dr. Tarek Ahmed Gaballah Al-Ghazaly as a lecturer at the Department of Computer Sciences, Faculty of Computers and Information, along with obliging him to pass the three qualifying courses and Faculty and Leadership Development programs within six months since starting his job; if he does not meet the aforementioned requirements, the University Board will reconsider the decree of his appointment.

*Combining the previous service for Dr. Rania Mohammed Abdul-Moez, a lecturer at the Department of Educational Sciences, Faculty of Early Childhood Education, which she had served as a researcher at the National Center for Educational Research for only two years, as per the regulations stipulated by the Council of Fayoum University in its meeting held on 31/10/2007.

*Publicize the latest decisions issued by the Supreme Council of Universities, namely:

-The mid-year holiday starts on Saturday 6/2/2010 for a period of two weeks; the second term starts on Saturday 20/2/2010.

-Do not write the name of any University from outside Egypt on scientific research published in scientific journals and periodicals only through a formal legal agreement with the Egyptian universities.

-Work to transform the courses into electronic ones as one of the solutions available to address the shortage of faculty and high numbers students and limited material resources available.
