In its meeting No. 46 dated 25/11/2009, Fayoum University Council, chaired by Professor Ahmed Magdy El-Gohary, President of Fayoum University, approved:

- the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Fayoum University and the Kumamoto Medical Center, Kumamoto, under which the center will exchange expertise with the Fayoum University Hospital.

-inviting Prof. Fumio Kawano, Vice-Director of the National Hospital Organization Kumamoto Medical Center, Kumamoto, and specialist in Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), to serve as a visiting professor to the Fayoum University Hospital for a bonus of L.E. 3000 per visit. This decision is taken in accordance with the Article 118 of the Universities' Organization Law no (49) in 1972 regarding the regulations that govern hiring foreign professors for two years.

-formulating the University Disciplinary Board for the academic year 2009/2010 as follows:
1-Prof. Abdel-Hamid Abdel-Tawab Sabry, Vice-President for Community Service and Environmental Development – Chair
2-Prof. Sherif Sayed Kamel, Professor at the Faculty of Law, Cairo University – Member
3-Chancellor/Helal Saber Mohammad, Vice Premier of the State Council – Member

-the proposal put forward by the Faculty of Dar Aluloum regarding naming the following individuals as outside board members of the Faculty Board for the academic year 2009-2010:
1-Prof. Mohamed Ahmad Serag, Professor of classical Arabic literature and Islamic studies, the American University in Cairo
2-Chancellor/ Mohammad Mahmoud Mohammad, President of the Mansoura Court of Appeal, Chairman of the Board of the Community Development Association located at Al-Saifiya Al-Gadida and the Chairman of the Board of the Teacher's House, Fayoum.

-the proposal put forward by the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels regarding appointing the following individuals as members of the Faculty Board for two years starting from 2009/2010:
1-Prof. Mahmoud Hewaidy, former dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels
2-Prof. Mohammad Refaat Mahmoud, full-time professor at Department of Tourist Studies, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels
3-Dr. Suzan Bakry Hassan, head of Department of Tourist Studies, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels

-Prof. Abu Serie Mohammad Hassan, full-time professor, Department of Arabic Language and Literature – Faculty of Arts – as a part-time professor for four years starting on 4/12/2009.

-Dr. Mohammad Kamal Khalaf Khalifa – assistant professor – Department of Restoration – Faculty of Archaeology;
-Dr. Mohammad Abdel-Hady – assistant professor – department of General Medicine – Faculty of Medicine - as associate professors.

granting the academic title of Associate Professor to both:

-Dr. Nohir Taha Hassan – assistant lecturer – Department of Instruction Technology as an assistant professor.
-Dr. Tamer Mohammad Abdel-Rahman Mohammad as an assistant professor at Department of Electrical Engineering. However, he is obliged to attend a Teacher Preparation Course and Faculty and Leadership Development programs as well as obtaining the ICDL certificate within 6 months; otherwise the decision regarding such matter will be reconsidered.
