The Fayoum University Council, chaired by Professor Magdy Hanna, Interim President of Fayoum University, took the following actions at their meeting No. 66 dated 30/11/2011:
-The Council approved the cooperation agreement initiated between Fayoum University's Faculty of Tourism and Hotels and University of Salento, Italy.

-The Council approved transferring Dr. Sherin Hassan Ahmed Rashwan, lecturer, Department of French Language and Literature, Faculty of Arts, Assiut University, to the same post at the Fayoum University's Faculty of Arts.

-The Council approved making the "Child Nutrition Course" part of the second term courses to be studied by the first years of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education.

-The Council approved appointing Dr. Mohammad AlKhuzamy Mohammad Aziz, as a professor of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Department of Geography, Faculty of Arts, in accordance with the advertisement published on 2/6/2011. Hence, he is required to attend a series of courses in the field of Faculty and Leadership Development as well as obtaining an ICDL certificate.

-The Council approved creating an Information Office consisting of:
* Prof. Nabila Mohammad Hassan, Dean, Faculty of Computers and Information
* Prof. Abdel Hamid Hamouda, Dean, Faculty of Arts
* Dr. Wael Taha Al-dahshoory
* Mr. Saleh Gomaa, University Secretary-general

-The Council approved training some fresh graduates to work as public relations officers at different faculties.

-The Council approved organizing specialized courses for personnel.

-The Council approved amalgamating the Technical Institute of Nursing into the Faculty of Nursing in accordance with the Ministrial Decision No. 1159 of 30/5/2011. The Supreme Council of Universities (SCU) shall be notified in this regard. Also, a committee comprising the vice-president for Education and Students' Affairs, and the membership of Dean of Faculty of Medicine Ashraf Hussein and Acting Dean of Faculty of Nursing Ashraf Wegdan shall be formed to take the executive procedures.

-The Council approved naming the following figures to be members of the Education and Students' Affairs Board for an academic year in accordance with the Article No. 32 of the Universities' Organization Law:
* Prof. Ibrahim Mohammad Sakr, Professor, Faculty of Arts
* Prof. Sayed Saleh Sayed, Professor Emeritus, Faculty of Agriculture
* Director of the Open Education Center
* Prof. Mohammad Abdullah Afifi, Part-time Professor, Faculty of Dar Al Uloom
* Prof. Ramy Mohammad Talaat, Part-time Professor, Faculty of Engineering


-The Council approved creating the board of the Student Solidarity Fund for the academic year 2011/2012 as follows:
-Prof. Vice-President for Education and Students' Affairs
-Prof. Dean of Faculty of Computers and Information
-Prof. Dean of Faculty of Social Work
-Mr. Director-general of the Youth Welfare Department
-President of Student Union

Promotions
-The Council approved appointing Dr. Hosam Mohammad Nady, assistant professor, Department of Grammar and Prosody, Faculty of Dar Al Uloom, as a professor.

-The Council approved reappointing Prof. Farouk Mohammad Ismael, part-time professor, Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, as a part-time professor for a four-year term.

-The Council approved reappointing Prof. Shafik Wesa Andarous, part-time professor, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Faculty of Education, as a part-time professor for a four-year term.
-The Council approved promoting Dr. Wael Mohammad El Sayed, lecturer, Department of Botany, Faculty of Science, to the position of assistant professor.

-The Council approved promoting Dr. Alaa El-din Mahmoud Abdel Latif, lecturer, Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, to the position of assistant professor.

-The Council approved promoting Dr. Ezzat Mohammad Othman, lecturer, Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, to the position of assistant professor.

-The Council approved promoting Dr. Asem Fouad Mohammad, lecturer, Department of Chest Diseases, Faculty of Medicine, to the position of assistant professor.

-The Council approved promoting Dr. Nader Shabaan Zaki, lecturer, Department of General Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, to the position of assistant lecturer.

-The Council approved granting Dr. Said Abdel Fattah Said, lecturer, Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, the academic title of assistant professor.

-The Council approved promoting Sherin Mohammad Kadafy, assistant lecturer, Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, to the position of lecturer.

-The Council approved promoting Rania Fouad Ahmed, assistant lecturer, Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, to the position of lecturer.

-The Council approved promoting Eman Embaby El Sayed, assistant lecturer, Department of Soil Science and Water, Faculty of Agriculture, to the position of lecturer.

-The Council approved promoting Ahmed Sraj Farid, assistant lecturer, Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, to the position of lecturer.

-The Council approved promoting Ahmed Mohammad Abdel Baky, assistant lecturer, Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, to the position of lecturer.

Contributions and Donations
- The Fayoum University Council accepted the donation offered by Mr. Ahmed Mahmoud Al Khateeb, CEO, Engineering Projects Co. (Epco), who made a five thousand pound contribution to the Student Fund of the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom.

- The Fayoum University Council accepted the donation offered by Mr. Farouk Mohammad Rabie, former director, Egypt Air, who made a five thousand pound contribution to the Student Fund of the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom.

- The Fayoum University Council accepted the donation offered by Mr. Tamer Farouk Rabie, professor, United Arab Emirates University, who made a one thousand pound contribution to the Student Fund of the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom.
