The Fayoum University Council, chaired by Professor
Abdel Hamid Abdel Tawab Sabry, President of Fayoum University, took the
following actions at their meeting No. 67 dated 28/12/2011:
-The Council approved starting study at the Fayoum University Institute for Nile
Basin Strategic Studies and Researches.
-The Council approved contacting the Antiquities Sector Committee of the Supreme
Council of Universities (SCU) to contact the NAQAAE to set national standards
for the Faculties of Archaeology nationwide.
-The Council approved nominating Professor Mohamed Mohamed Sakran, Professor
Emeritus of the Foundations of Education, Faculty of Education, for the State
Merit Award for Humanities.
-The Council approved nominating Professor Abdel Attay Abdel Motay Kiwan,
Professor of Arabic Language and Literature, Faculty of Arts, for the State
Merit Award for Literature.
-The Council approved forming a three-member electronic control committee;
memberships will be renewed annually.
-The Council approved exempting students who have been sent on scientific
missions from taking the TOEFL exams in accordance with the following
conditions:
1-The mother tongue of the host country is English.
2-The student has spent two years abroad.
3-The student has demonstrated proficiency in English before departure.
4-The language of the thesis submitted is English.
Secondments
-The Council approved renewing the secondment of Professor Magdy
Ibrahim Amin, professor emeritus, Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of
Engineering.
-The Council approved renewing the secondment of Professor Masaad Mohammad
Mansour, professor, Department of Soil Science and Water, Faculty of
Agriculture.
-The Council approved renewing the secondment of Dr. Nady Abdel Aziz, lecturer,
Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture.
-The Council approved renewing the secondment of Dr. Sobhy Ahmed Mansour,
assistant lecturer, Department of Geology, Faculty of Science.
-The Council approved renewing the secondment of Dr. Ahmed Ali Kandeel,
lecturer, Department of Geology, Faculty of Science.
-The Council approved that the ICDL certification is no longer mandatory as a
certification qualification for Class of 2010/2011 as per the decision of the
Supreme Council of Universities (SCU).
-The Council approved creating a debate on the proposed amendments of the
Universities Organization Law.
-The Council approved developing an Undergraduate Program in Poultry Science
similar to that of the Damanhour University’s Faculty of Agriculture.
Promotions
-The Council approved reappointing Prof.
Makram Aziz Hanna, Department of Plant Production, Faculty of
Agriculture, as a part-time professor.
-The Council approved appointing Dr. Nagwa Sayed Abdel
Rahim, lecturer, Department of Restoration, Faculty of Archaeology, as
assistant professor.
-The Council approved appointing Dr. Sameh Mahmoud Amin,
lecturer, Department of Ear, Nose and Throat, Faculty of Medicine, as assistant
professor.
-The Council approved appointing Dr. Mohammad Mahmoud Kotb,
lecturer, Department of Ear, Nose and Throat, Faculty of Medicine, as assistant
professor.
-The Council approved appointing Dr. Mohammad Mohammad
Ezzat Al-Ghawas, lecturer, Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine,
as assistant professor.
The Council approved granting Dr. Mohammad Motamed Meghed,
lecturer, Department of Restoration, Faculty of Archaeology, the academic
title of assistant professor.
The Council approved appointing Dr. Abdel Razek Abdel
Shafie Abdel-Naby, assistant lecturer, Department of Restoration, Faculty
of Archaeology, as lecturer.
The Council approved appointing Dr. Tarek Mokhtar Hussein,
assistant lecturer, Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Faculty of
Medicine, as lecturer.
Contributions and Donations:
- The Fayoum University Council accepted the donation offered by
Prof. Ahmed Magdy El Gohary, Former President of Fayoum University, who made a
five thousand pound contribution to the Medical Care Fund for Employees in
addition to a check of five thousand pounds for the Student Fund of Fayoum
University.
