In its monthly meeting No. 79 dated December 30th, 2012,
the Fayoum University Council, chaired by President of Fayoum University
Professor Abdel Hamid Abdel Tawab Sabry, took the following actions:
• The Council approved the November 2012 Meeting Minute.
The Council approved awarding the following students
the Master's Degrees:
• Hani Halim Georgi Mekhail, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels
• Walid Kamal Shabaan Ismael, Faculty of Dar Al Uloom
• Adel Abdel Aziz Abdel Hamid El Sayed, Faculty of Science
• Adel Fathy Abdel Moniem Mohamed, Faculty of Science
The Council approved awarding the following students
the PhD Degrees:
• Mohammad Attia Mahmoud Mohamed, Faculty of Science
• Ahmad Abdel Aziz Mahmoud Awad, Faculty of Agriculture

The Council approved:
• Awarding the Graduate Diploma Degree in Tourism and Hotels to 4 students.
• Awarding the Graduate Diploma Degree in Arts to 22 students.
• Awarding the B.A Degree in Arts.
The Council approved the university's nominations to
the 2012 State Prizes as follows:
- Prof. Mohamed Bahaa El Sayed Ahmed, Dean of Dental and Oral Medicine, for the
State Merit Award for Medical Sciences.
- Prof. El Sayed Mohamed El Sayed Abdo Selim, Dean of the Faculty of Specific
Education, Kafrelsheikh University, nominated for the State Merit Award for Art.
Appointments and Promotions
- The Council approved appointing Dr. Mostafa Mohamed Radi Abdel
Moaty, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, Faculty of Agriculture, as
Professor.
- The Council approved appointing Dr. Mohamed Foaud Mohamed Khalil, Assistant
Professor, Department of History, Faculty of Arts, as Professor.
- The Council approved appointing Dr. Ayman Mohamed Salah Yousef, Assistant
Professor, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, as Professor.
- The Council approved appointing Dr. Nagwa Ibrahim Abdel Gawad, Lecturer,
Department of Tourist Guidance, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, as Assistant
Professor.
- The Council approved appointing Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Abdel Rahim, Lecturer,
Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, as Assistant Professor.
- The Council approved appointing Dr. Shimaa Saber Sayed Tolba, Assistant
Lecturer, Department of Art Education, Faculty of Specific Education, as
Lecturer.
- The Council approved appointing Dr. Hany Mohamed Roshdy, Assistant Lecturer,
Department of Tourist Guidance, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, as Lecturer.
- The Council approved appointing Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Fouad Ibrahim, Assistant
Lecturer, Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, as Lecturer.
- The Council approved appointing Dr. Walid Sayed Ahmed Al Dabaany, Assistant
Lecturer, Department of General Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, as Lecturer.
- The Council approved appointing Dr. Mohammad Awad El Said Ahmed, Assistant
Lecturer, Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine, as Lecturer.
- The Council approved appointing Dr. Ahmed Khalafallh Safina Ahmed, Assistant
Lecturer, Department of Egyptology, Faculty of Archaeology, as Lecturer.
Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs
-The Council approved creating a fund for books of the Central Library to
receive contributions from the university faculty members
-The Council approved signing an agreement between the E-Course Production
center (ECPC) and the Development of Student Assessment Systems Center (DSASC).
-The Council adopted new rules for Scientific Publication Award as follows:
*The Scientific Publication Award shall be only given to the research papers
published in a peer reviewed international journal having an impact factor. The
author's affiliation to Fayoum University must be clearly mentioned.
*For a genuine research paper, a reward of LE 10. 000 will be given to authors
affiliate to Fayoum University.
*For a research paper extracted from a master's thesis or PhD dissertation and
is studied in an Egyptian university or a foreign university and the main author
serves as a demonstrator or an assistant lecturer at Fayoum University, a reward
of LE 10.000 shall be given to the authors affiliate to Fayoum University, with
a reward not exceeding LE 5.000 to the main author.
*For a research paper extracted from a master's thesis or PhD dissertation and
the main author is not affiliate to Fayoum University, a reward of LE 10.000
shall be equally distributed among the authors affiliate to Fayoum University.
*This decision shall be applied to the researchers who will be honored next
commencement day.
* A sum of LE 50 will be charged for the academic year 2012/2013 to be devoted
to scientific trips and it will be increased to LE 100 next year.
Community Service and Environment Development Affairs
The Council approved altering some articles of the Bylaw of the
Special Centers and Units as follows:
Article (3) : The board of directors shall be formed for a term of two years as
per a decision to be issued by the University President in accordance to a
suggestion to be made by the Vice-President for Community Service and
Environment Development. The board of directors shall be composed of:
-Faculty Dean as chairman
-Vice-Dean for Community Service and Environment Development as deputy chairman
-Center's director as member
-Directors of sub-units as members
-Faculty sectary-general as members
-Members from outside can be included; maximum number is three
Article (4): A center for public service shall be set up in each faculty, to
which all faculty-based units shall affiliate.
Article (7) : The University President is entitled to appoint directors of
centers affiliate to the University Administration.
Education and Students' Affairs
The Council approved omitting the ICDL course from the internal
regulation of the Faculty of Agriculture.
-The Council approved the Academic References of the Fayoum Faculty of
Archaeology
Contributions
-The University Council accepted the contribution made by the
Ministry of Communications in the form of 12 computers for the Fayoum
University's Center for the Blind and People with Special Needs.
