 In its session no. 27 dated February 2008,Fayoum University Council approved of naming the biggest grandstand in Faculty of Education after Prof. Dr. Sofi Abu Talib; this grandstand witnessed the beginning of study while his presidency of Cairo University in 1976.
Prof. Dr. Galal M. Said, president of Fayoum University, offered his condolence to :
*the family of the late Prof. Dr. Mona Badr, the ex-vice dean of Faculty of Archaeology for Community Service and Environment Development
*the family of Prof. Dr. Sofi Abu Talib, the ex- Head the Egyptian Peoples’ Council, mentioning his great efforts in establishing and founding Cairo University – Fayoum Branch.
A protocol between Development Research and Consulting Center of Fayoum University and Directorate of Housing of Fayoum Governorate has been signed; by virtue of this protocol the university has the right to supervise the execution of two thousand flats constructed in the governorate in the frame of Mubarak Youth Housing Project. Also, the university is currently setting a strategy of comprehensive development of Fayoum until 2020 as well as a guidebook for the investors in all agricultural, industrial and tourist sectors.
