The Fayoum University Council, chaired by Professor Abdel
Hamid Abdel Tawab Sabry, President of Fayoum University, took the following
actions at their meeting No. 71 dated 30/4/2012:
-The Council approved the March Meeting Minute dated 28/3/2012.
-The Council approved starting end-year exams on 9/6/2012; 16-17/6/2012 will not
be exam days as they are devoted for presidential elections runoff.
-The Council approved exempting blind student from the fees of the TOEFL course
as well as test fees.
-The Council approved altering the Article No. 18 of the Graduate Studies
Regulation of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education to be as follows:
-To enroll in the Applied Diploma in Education Program, the applicant must:
- possess a B.A. or B.Sc. degree from one of the Egyptian universities or
equivalent degree from another recognized institute approved by the Supreme
Council of Universities (SCU);
The SCU shall be notified in this regard.
-The Council approved altering the Paragraph No. 4 of the Supreme Council of
Universities (SCU)'s decision No. 67 dated 28/12/2011 with regard to creating a
Research Fund at Fayoum University to be as follows:
Creating a University Research Fund in accordance with the Article No. 307 of
the Statute of the Universities' Organization Law as follows:
1- The objective of the Research Fund is to contribute
to providing financial resources to be devoted to:
-Fayoum University Pioneer Awards
-Scientific Publication Awards
-Any other awards approved by the University Council
-Expenses of publishing research papers.
-Supporting research papers submitted by teaching assistants to obtain Master
and Doctoral degrees.
-Funding research projects.
2- The Board of the Research Fund consists of:
-Prof. University President (Chair)
-Prof. Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Research (Vice-Chairman)
-Prof. Dean of Faculty of Medicine (Member)
-Prof. Dean of a practical faculty (Member)
-Prof. Dean of a theoretical faculty (Member)
-University Secretary-general
The board shall hold a meeting every three months.
3- Resources of Research Fund
-10% of the fees of postgraduate studies for the Educational Services
Enhancement Fund.
-5% of the fees paid by the international students.
-50% of the University's quota in each funded research project.
-Revenues of marketing applied research papers.
-Contributions and donations.
4-The expenses of the Master and Doctoral theses
conducted by the teaching assistant shall be funded as follows:
Practical Faculty Theoretical Faculty
Assistant Lecturer (Applicants for PhD degrees) EGP 6000 EGP 4000
Demonstrator (Applicants for Diploma and Master Degrees) EGP 4000 EGP 3000
Funding shall be provided once the following procedures
are followed:
1-Prospective researcher should submit his/her research plan approved by
his/her main supervisor and faculty dean.
2- Prospective researcher should submit a request approved by his/her main
supervisor and faculty dean, along with evidence to support such proposals.
3-The request shall be discussed by the Board of the Research Fund to decide the
needed funding.
5-General Rules
1-All expenditures of the University Research Fund are subject to
review by the concerned bodies.
2-The fiscal year starts on 1/7 and ends on 30/6 every year.
3-The unused balance shall be transferred to be used the next year.
Promotions:
-The Council approved appointing Dr. Hemdan Rabie Attia,
Assistant Professor, Department of Restoration, Faculty of Archaeology, as
Professor.
-The Council approved appointing Dr. Soha Mohamed Abdel Aziz, Assistant
Professor, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, as Professor.
-The Council approved promoting Dr. Sayed Mahmoud Moursi, Lecturer, Department
of Geography, Faculty of Arts, to the position of Assistant Professor.
-The Council approved promoting Dr. Rabie Hassan Awad Soliman, lecturer,
Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, to the position of
Assistant Professor.
-The Council approved promoting Dr. Ahmed Elham Ahmed Fares, lecturer,
Department of General Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, to the position of Assistant
Professor.
-The Council approved granting Dr. Nahla Abdel Rehim Farghali, lecturer,
Department of Development and Planning, Faculty of Social Work, the academic
title of Assistant Professor.
- The Council approved granting Dr. Mohamed Ismael Abolattaa, lecturer,
Department of Egyptology, Faculty of Archaeology, the academic title of
Assistant Professor.
- The Council approved granting Dr. Ashraf Yassin Abd El-Hafeez, lecturer,
Department of Geography, Faculty of Arts, the academic title of Assistant
Professor.
- The Council approved promoting Dr. Salwa AbdelHafez Bhrawi, assistant
lecturer, Department of Development and Planning, Faculty of Social Work, to the
position of Lecturer.
- The Council approved promoting Dr. Mukhtar Mohamed Mohamed, assistant
lecturer, Department of Egyptology, Faculty of Archaeology, to the position of
Lecturer.
- The Council approved promoting Dr. Mostafa Ibrahim Abd Elrahman Elashiry,
assistant lecturer, Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, to the
position of Lecturer.
- The Council approved promoting Dr. Marwa Ahmed El-Dardiry Mohamed, assistant
lecturer, Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, to the position of
Lecturer.
Contributions and Donations
-The Fayoum University Council accepted the donation offered by
the Wadi Degla Sporting Club, which contributed a
cheque of LE 10000 to the Fayoum University Center for the Blind and People with
Special Needs.
- The Fayoum University Council accepted the donation offered by
the ZAS Computer Center which contributed some
benches to the Faculty of Education.
- The Fayoum University Council accepted the donation offered by
Algeel Medical Equipment Co., which contributed a
set of medical and training equipment which is worth LE 8000 to the Faculty of
Nursing.
