*In its meeting No. 53 dated 29/9/2010, Fayoum University Council, chaired by Professor Ahmed El Gohary, President of Fayoum University, approved:

-cancellation of agreements already concluded with Community Service, Training and Free Studies Center, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Fayoum University, for non-compliance to the university regulations and rules as well as violating the rules set by the Supreme Council of Universities. The university also denies responsibility for degrees awarded by the center as it will not approve any certificate issued by the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Fayoum University in this regard.

-altering the name of" The Fayoum University Center for Research and Strategic Studies for Nile Basin Countries" into "The Fayoum University Institute for Strategic Studies and Research of Nile Basin Countries". Accordingly, the center name must be changed wherever it appears in the Internal Regulations along with changing the names of the units mentioned in the Internal Regulations. In addition, the center will fall under the charge of the University President who will approve the newly-amended Internal Regulations to be sent to the SCU.

-giving due attention to the student activities through holding competitions in a wide range of activities. Moreover, symposia touching the on the scene events – local and domestics issues such as population, development, Egypt water resources, climate changes and political participation – should be held. The Council also approves the 2010/2011 Cultural Program Agenda which includes a variety of symposia on national, political, health arenas as well as sports, social and religious events.

-training the rank and file working for Undergraduate Affairs, Youth Welfare and University Dorms in principles of human rights through holding training courses for them focusing on human rights.

-The Fayoum University Council approves that a student's participation in combating illiteracy is mandatory, particularly for students of Faculties of Education, Social Work and Dar Al Uloom.

-The Fayoum University Council approves announcing timetables of examination by the beginning of November;

- Fayoum University Council approves residence tuition at the University Dorms as follows:
*EGP 50 for students with excellent grade
*EGP 70 for students with very good grade
*EGP 90 for students with good grade
*EGP 100 for students with sufficient grade
*EGP 110 for students with insufficient grade
*EGP 90 for freshmen as they will be treated as students with good grade.
* Fayoum University Council approves the internal regulations of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education (Postgraduate Studies Stage) after adding the amendments proposed by the Childhood and Kindergarten Sector.

*The Fayoum University Council also approves adding the following members to the Faculty of Agriculture Board for the academic year 2010/2011:

-Prof. Mohammad Ali Galal Ali, a full-time professor, Department of Agronomy, and former dean of Faculty of Agriculture;

-Prof. Abdul Aziz Nasr Sheran, a full-time professor, Department of Agronomy, and vice-dean of Faculty of Agriculture for Postgraduate Studies and Research;

-Prof. Hosny Mohammad Gamaledine, a full-time professor, Department of Agricultural Microbiology;

-Prof. Abdul Azim Mohammad Mustafa, a full-time professor, Department of Agricultural Economics, and former dean of Faculty of Agriculture; and

-Prof. Farouk Fathy Mohammad, a full-time professor, Department of Plant Protection.

*The Fayoum University Council approves promoting Professor Aisha Abdul Aziz Mohammad Al Tohamy, Department of Tourist Guidance, Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, to the rank of Professor.

* The Fayoum University Council approves promoting Dr. Samiha Ali Mohammad Makhlouf, Department of Educational Management, Faculty of Education, to the rank of Associate Professor.

*The Fayoum University Council approves promoting Dr. Azza Mohram Hassan Abuel Fadl, Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, to the rank of Assistant Professor.

* The Fayoum University Council approves promoting Dr. Eid Naimy Faisal Hassan, Department of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, to the rank of Assistant Professor.

* The Fayoum University Council approves promoting Dr. Sayed Rabie Sayed Hassan, Department of Art Education, Faculty of Specific Education, to the rank of Assistant Professor.


- The Fayoum University Council approves accepting the donations offered by:

President Ahmed El Gohary in the form of a sum of 2000 for the Fayoum University Fund for Students' Welfare;

-SIEMENS, in collaboration with the Industrial Training Center (ITC), in the form of devices totaling EUR 6797.74 for furnishing the SIEMENS Laboratory at Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering; and

-The Shury for Chemicals Co. in the form of a sum of EGP 22500 for building the Fayoum University Mosque
