Quality Assurance and Strategic Planning Center (QASPC), Fayoum University, organized on Tuesday 24/3/2009 a workshop on "Preparation of Strategic Plan and Application Documents for Continuous Improvement and Qualifying for Accreditation Project (CIQAP)".
Held at QASPC Training Hall, the workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Ahmed El Gohary, President of Fayoum University, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Radwan, Director of QASPC, and coordinators of the faculties participating (Agriculture - Engineering - Social Work - Science - Specific Education).
The workshop started with a note delivered by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Radwan in which he affirmed that the government faculties are supported to achieve continuous development, which is the main objective of accreditation. "Contracts will be penned", he says," only with faculties which have the guarantees that they will get the accreditation after two years of the project in addition to going on developing themselves without external support."
Next, Prof. Dr. Ahmed El Gohary delivered his speech in which he expressed his deep interest in that project. He also called on the faculties to apply for CIQAP as soon as possible because of the cutthroat competition at the level of the Egyptian universities. It is worth noting that the number of faculties to be accredited in this stage ranges from 20 to 25.
At the end of the workshop, the coordinators of the participating faculties show the following:
-The current status quo of their faculties and to what extent they meet the requirements of the project
-Application plan "activities - timings – responsibilities"
-The required support from QASPC.
