CIDA Scholarship Program 2010/2014
Scholarships for Master and Post-doctoral study in Canada

The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) invites applications for its scholarship program 2010/2014. The Program is designed to help promising research students to pursue a full-time two-year M.A. study, a one-year post-doctoral research work or a 3-10 month training courses.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicant must:
• Be an Egyptian national and have resided in Egypt for a year during applying for the scholarship; hence, those who applied for immigration to Canada or who reside in Canada do not have the right to apply for the scholarships offered.
• Be university students, public sector employees, or private sector employees.
• Be a holder of an academic degree with a Very Good Grade.
• Have a high level of French language proficiency; DELF Certificate(The Diplôme d'études en langue française) must be submitted.
• Obtain their last academic degree during the last five years.
• The scholarship is open for all disciplines, except medicine, dentistry and pharmacy.

Application Instructions:
• Applicants must submit a file including the following:
• An updated resume written in French.
• Copy of Birth Certificate
• Copy of Egyptian National ID and/or passport
• Copy of Official Secondary/High School Transcript
• Copy of Transcript of Secondary School attached with a translation in French. Secondary School Transcripts must contain a detailed list of all subjects studied, and the total marks obtained in each subject.
• Copy of Transcripts of the first and second year of Secondary School.
• Copy of B.A Certificate and M.A. Certificate (if found).
• Copy of transcript of each academic year (whether B.A. or M.A.)
• Three Letters of Recommendation from academics acquainted with the applicant.
• In case of applying for studying in Canada to obtain M.A. degree, a 750-word essay must be written in French.
• A 400-500 word essay on how the applicant will help their country upon coming back home.

Benefits and Facilities
• The scholarship covers all academic, institutional and living expenses including medical coverage and return air tickets.

Deadline of Application:
• To enroll in the university studies, which begin in September 2010, applicants must send a file containing applications and supporting documentation by December 31/12/2009. Files to be forwarded to Mrs. Amal Al-Sebay, Missions Unit, the Technical Office of the Head of Missions and Cultural Affairs Sector at the following address:
