US Embassy: Exchange Opportunities for Scholars and Undergraduate Students

 

  The Exchanges team at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo has the pleasure to inform you that there are some exchanges opportunities open for applications, including:


(1) Study U.S. Institutes for Scholars
This program is for multinational groups of university faculty and other related scholars. This is a rigorous six-week post-graduate academic program held at university campuses throughout the United States. Study of the United States Institutes are intensive post-graduate level academic programs with integrated study tours whose purpose is to provide foreign university faculty and other scholars the opportunity to deepen their understanding of American society, culture, and institutions. The ultimate goal is to strengthen curricula and to improve the quality of teaching about the United States in academic institutions abroad. The institute programs offered in summer 2013 are: American Politics and Political Thought; Contemporary American Literature; Journalism and Media; U.S. Culture and Society and Religious Pluralism in the U.S.

(2) Study U.S. Institutes for Student Leaders on Religious Pluralism, Social Entrepreneurship and Women’s Leadership


The 2013 Study of the United States Institutes for Student Leaders on Religious Pluralism, Social Entrepreneurship and Women’s Leadership are intensive academic programs whose purpose is to provide groups of Egyptian undergraduate student leaders with a deeper understanding of the United States, while simultaneously enhancing their leadership skills. The Institutes will take place in June and July 2013; exact dates will be announced at a later time.
