2009 NRF Postdoctoral Fellowship
for Foreign Researchers

The National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) grants fellowships to foreign researchers in Fields Natural Science and Engineering

Duration and Commencement of Fellowship
* Fellowships are awarded for a period of 6~12 months

Eligibility
Applicants should:
- hold a Ph.D. degree and have some experiences in his/her field.
- preferably be not more than 40 years of age.
- be recommended by a nominating authority, in accordance with item 21 of the application form (Annex 1).
- hold an invitation letter from a Korean Advisor in order to be recommended by the nominating authority.
- have a good command of spoken and written English (or Korean language).
- be in good health, both physically and mentally.

Allowance & Expenses
NRF provides Fellowship recipients with the following allowances and expenses:
1. A living allowance of 1,700,000 Won (Korean currency unit) per month.
2. Overseas travel accident insurance for the fellow covering medical treatment during their stay in Korea in accordance with local insurance company policy. Any expenses for medical treatment not covered by the policy must be borne by fellows themselves.
3. Round-trip airplane tickets for fellows only (Tickets will be issued by NRF and sent to applicants by PTA).

Application Procedure and Screening
(1) Each applicant must send one signed copy of the Application Form (Annex 1 & 2) enclosed with a recommendation letter by the nominating authority at asrt@asrt.sci.eg or mohsenshoukry@hotmail.com by 9 November 2009.
(2) Each applicant should make contact with a Korean host researcher in advance and hold an invitation letter from him/her.
(3) Each applicant must submit one signed copy of the Application Form (Annex 1 & 2) to the Korean host researcher with the recommendation from the nominating authority (item 21 of Annex 1, confer Annex 3).
