launch
German-Egyptian Research Fund (GERF)
Deadline: 28 July, 2010
Jointly, the Egyptian Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF)
and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), Germany
provide funding for joint innovative projects in all fields of science, including social sciences through “Egyptian-German Research Fund”.

Applicants are particularly encouraged to submit proposals in the following fields:
* Water desalination
* Health research including agricultural production of pharmaceutical substances from plants ("pharming")
* Climate protection and natural resources management, especially “Crop tolerance to drought and salt stress under field conditions”
