The Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector of the Ministry of Higher Education announces that applications are invited to the CV Raman International Fellowship Program for African Researchers incubated by the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), India, to conduct research in Indian institutions in chosen frontline areas of science and technology.

I . Fields of Research / Training

All fields of natural/engineering sciences including mathematics and statistics are included under this programme. Humanities and behavioral sciences are not covered in this programme.

II .Types and Number of Fellowship Offered

Each African country will have 8 slots of Fellowship under this programme.

(a) Post Doctoral Fellowship: Duration 6 months. Maximum 2 fellowships of 6 months duration or one fellowship thereof subject to total 12 man-months.

(b) Visiting Fellowship: Duration 3 months. Maximum 3 fellowships.

(c) Senior Fellowship: Duration 1 month. Maximum 3 fellowships.

III .Eligibility Criteria

African scientists/ technologists who fulfill the following criteria can submit applications for award of CV Raman International Fellowship.

(a ) Applicant should be a citizen/permanent resident of an eligible country having diplomatic relations with India.

(b) The applicants should be actively engaged in research at a university or research institution in the African country.

(c ) Indian Host Institute: The applicant has to work out a research/training plan with his/her host scientist. Applicant is required to produce evidence, in the form of a letter of acceptance, from the proposed host institution.

 (d ) Minimum Academic Qualifications:

(1) Post Doctoral Fellowship: Ph.D

(2) Visiting Fellowship: Ph.D / M.Tech / M.Sc. (Engg / Technical) or 6 to 10 years working experience

(3) Senior Fellowship: Senior Experts / Scientists / Professors

Notice: Candidates who have earlier availed CV Raman International Fellowship will not be eligible for this fellowship again.

IV .Documents to be submitted

(a) Application form filled by candidate. The form is available at www.indembcairo.com

(b) A letter of acceptance/invitation from candidate's prospective host researcher in India, stating that he/she accepts the candidate at his/ her institution during period of the fellowship tenure.

( c) A copy of candidate's educational qualification from Bachelor's degree onwards.

(d) All documents must be in English. It the original documents are in other language, kindly enclose the English translation.
