A number of notables attended the opening ceremony including Prof. Dr. Saad Nassar, External University Council Member, Prof. Dr. Abdel Hamid Abdel Tawab, Vice-President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Sayed Saleh, Dean of Faculty of Specific Education as well as a number of the faculty staff. The gallery included many fantastic models of art works, light units, posters and three-dimensional objects. Dr. Amani Mahmoud Albiasy, Lecturer of Art Works, Department of Art Education and the gallery supervisor said, "Patchwork is a form of needlework that involves sewing together pieces of fabric into a larger design as well as highlighting the fabric artistic values via using novel and innovative artistic techniques."
