As part of its societal role, the Faculty of Social Work at Fayoum University, and in line with efforts to strengthen partnerships between academic institutions and civil society organizations, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hosny Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty, welcomed Ms. Abir Shawky, Director of Al-Nidaa Foundation for Community Development, at the Faculty on Tuesday, 22/7/2025, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Nadia Abdelaziz Hegazy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, along with the Foundation’s team.

A cooperation protocol was signed between both parties to support and empower women economically and socially. Al-Nidaa Foundation, located within the Textile Factory, is one of the pioneering organizations providing professional training for women in sewing skills, in addition to offering real job opportunities.

The Foundation’s role extends beyond economic empowerment to include health and cultural awareness, education support, and literacy programs, ensuring an improved quality of life for its beneficiaries.

The Faculty of Social Work, through its academic and student resources, will provide the technical and training support necessary to enhance the effectiveness of the Foundation’s programs, reflecting the Faculty’s role in serving local community issues and applying scientific knowledge in real developmental contexts.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hosny affirmed that cooperation with Al-Nidaa Foundation represents an important step in achieving the Faculty’s vision of active community engagement, stressing the importance of integrating academic and fieldwork aspects to serve target groups.
