The Sackcloth Fans As One Of The Civilized Aspects Of Abbasid Period (In The Light Of The Arab School Of Paintings)

The sackcloth fans considered one of the painting elements appeared within the Islamic manuscripts and classified as one of the important aspects of Arab School of paintings. This study aims to answer some questions regarding the origin of the sackcloth fans, its materials, technology and function. Furthermore, the paper presents a survey and authentication of the sackcloth fans through the historical resources and poems divans.
