Bylaws
 Article (1)
The Faculties Objectives :
1- Training experts in the field of computer science to be skilled with theoretical bases and ideologies that would enable them to cope with international competition in this field and its applications.
2- Performing scientific studies and applied researches in computer science specially those having a direct and great impact on the society's integrated development. In addition to establishing specialized units in different fields of computer science.
3- Offering consultancies as well as scientific and technical assistance for different parties and authorities that use computers and information technology and is concerned about industry and decision making.
4- Train human capital in different governmental sectors on computers and information technology.
5- Spread knowledge of using computers and information technology in different governmental sectors and associations and increase efficiency in their usage.
6- Planning conferences and scientific aiming at developing the scientific standards and deepening scientific concepts among experts.
7- Make scientific deals with authorities and counterpart associations on the local, regional and international level with the aim of exchanging opinions and performing researches related to computers and information.
8- Providing and supporting publishing channels and scientific researches in different fields of specialty.

 Article (2)

Faculty departments

Faculty of Computers and Information Departments are:
1- Basic Sciences.
2- Computer Science.
3- Information Systems.
Faculty council has the right to establish new departments on need and on the availability of financial and human.
 Article (3):

Scientific Degrees :

As per Computers and Information Faculty’s Council request, Fayoum University offers B.Sc. in:
1- Computer Science.
2- Information Systems.

 Article (4) :

Studying Semesters :
The studying period in the faculty is four years divided into eight terms.

 Article (5) :
Studying Systems :
The student transfers to the next academic year if he succeeded in all subjects or failed in at most two subjects.

 Article (6):
The Attendance and the Absence :
Final exams are made at the end of each year in the curriculums that the student had studied during the year and in previous year subjects that he had failed in. The faculty council announces that the student is deprived of entering the exam if he didn’t meet 75% of the attendance except if he had gave a reasonable excuse for that.

 Article (7) :
Complementary exams for fourth year failed students are entangled in September in at most two subjects but not for the graduation project.

 Article (8):
First and Second year students make a summer training in the faculty for four weeks at least and the faculty council recommend decide the training topic as well as the supervisor. Also the training can be made outside the faculty under the supervision of the faculty.

 Article (9) :
Exam and Evaluation:
The student’s grade is to be calculated in each curriculum as follow:
– Excellent : 85%
– Very Good: from 75% to 85%
– Good from 65% to 75%
– Fair 50% to 65%

The student is considered to be failed if he got:
– Weak 30% to 50%
– Very Weak 30 % to less

 Article (10) :
The student’s graduation grade is calculated upon the accumulated grade during the 4 years of study.

 Article (11) :
Projects & researches:
The Fourth year students prepare a graduation project in specific topics set by scientific departments of the faculty. The student concentrates in this project a period set by the faculty’s board after the end of the second term.

Introduction to Computers – Fundamentals of structural programming – Logic Design – Object Oriented Programming - Formal Languages& Automata – Numerical Computing methods - Analysis and Design of Algorithms - Software Engineering - Assembly Language – Modeling Simulation - Compiler Theory - Image Processing - Computer Networks - Theory of Computation - Neural Networks - Distributed Computing - Computer Security Techniques – Optional curriculum – Computer Science Project.

3. Information systems department:
Data Base – File Organization - Numerical Computing Methods - Systems Analysis and Design – Database Management System - Economics - Programs Development - Management Information Systems - Information Engineering - Electronic Commence - Crisis Management & Disaster Recovery - Geographical Information Systems - Office Automation Systems - Decision Support Systems - Optional curriculum – Computer Science Project.
