Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, Prof. Dr. Arfa Sabry Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, witnessed "Business Owners Dialogue Session on: Visions for the Future of Employment in Egypt: A Discussion on Professional Development and Employment for Fayoum University Students" to enhance the partnership between the university and the private sector, which was organized by the University Center for Professional Development at the university.

In the presence of Dr. Emad Abdel Salam, Director of the University Center for Professional Development, Eng. Amir Roushdy, representing the American University in Cairo, and representatives of 15 private institutions including the medical sector, banks, companies and private schools, on Monday 29/7/2024 at the university.

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata pointed out Fayoum University's constant endeavor to prepare a graduate who is distinguished in knowledge and skills, stressing the importance of building strategic partnerships between the university and the private sector, in line with the university's orientation to develop educational programs and enhance employment opportunities for graduates in various specializations, in order to be consistent with national development plans and Egypt's vision for sustainable development 2030 AD.

Prof. Arafa Sabry said that the university adopts the participation of innovative ideas in scientific research and training with institutions and companies to qualify its students and graduates by providing the appropriate environment for research and development, and encouraging students and researchers to innovate and create to serve the community.

Prof. Assem El-Essawy explained the importance of the partnership between the university and the private sector in serving the local community, as the private sector contributes to providing training and practical opportunities that help students acquire the skills necessary for the labor market.

He added that the university provides full support to enhance the utilization of the available capabilities at the university to achieve integration between the University Center for Professional Development and all private institutions to qualify students and graduates for the labor market and entrepreneurship.

He announced that today's session with private sector partners comes to discuss aspects and means of cooperation, professional development and employment for Fayoum University students in a number of axes, including identifying the skills required for graduates, and mechanisms and proposals for joint cooperation between business owners and the university to come up with visions and outputs that achieve the targeted requirements through applicable recommendations to serve graduates.

For his part, Dr. Emad Abdel Salam highlighted the vital role played by the University Center for Professional Development in developing various skills among students and graduates through training courses, workshops, seminars and conferences, in addition to advisory services for graduates after joining the labor market. He added that the center provided training and advisory services during one year to more than 5,315 trainees from the university students. The session witnessed an open dialogue and exchange of views between the university and representatives of the private sector to develop a joint roadmap to qualify graduates according to the requirements of the labor market.
