Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, and Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, received Brigadier General Ahmed Abu El-Fotouh, Deputy Director of the Giza Recruitment and Mobilization Zone, and Colonel Ali Sayed Sharshar, Head of the Fayoum Recruitment Department, to conduct a medical examination of university students with disabilities and students of Al-Nour School for the Blind and the Intellectual Education School who have reached the age of recruitment, to obtain a certificate of exemption from military service in cooperation between Fayoum University and the Giza Recruitment Zone, in the presence of Dr. Rahab Abdel Raouf, on Tuesday 2/11/2025.

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata said that the medical examination of students with disabilities within the university comes within the framework of responding to the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to pay attention to this category and facilitate their extraction of the exemption certificate from military service, noting that Fayoum University pays great attention to people with disabilities and works to provide them with an appropriate environment for education and qualify them for the labor market by concluding cooperation protocols between many entities working in the field of people with disabilities.

He thanked Brigadier General Ahmed Abu Al-Fotouh and his accompanying team for their efforts in supporting students and facilitating their obtaining the exemption certificate.

For his part, Prof. Sherif Al-Attar confirmed that students with disabilities at the university receive full support as work is being done to provide a suitable educational environment for them and the university is working to integrate them into the university community more through participation in student activities, whether within the university or in top competitions at the level of Egyptian universities, adding that students with disabilities at the university possess great creative abilities that the university is working to employ properly. Brigadier General Ahmed Abu Al-Fotouh pointed out that the Egyptian Armed Forces seek to provide its services to students with disabilities in an easy manner and examine them in Egyptian public and private universities without any administrative fees. He confirmed that examinations were conducted for various motor, visual and mental disabilities, while medical examinations were not conducted for those with hearing disabilities because they require precise medical equipment.
