The event was held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in the conference hall of the Central Library.
Prof. Assem El-Essawy explained that the university's entrepreneurship initiative began as an idea and, over time, has become a tangible reality. This initiative is part of the university's strategy to support innovation and entrepreneurship among its students as a fundamental pillar for achieving the aspirations of young graduates, which has become a key path to creating new job opportunities. He emphasized that this event represents a practical step to empower youth and transform their ideas into projects that contribute to building the national economy. He also praised the constructive cooperation between the university, the governorate, and the private sector to support innovators. The meeting included several sessions. The first session, titled "Government Agency Support for Entrepreneurship," featured speakers Dr. Mohsen Diab, Director of the Digital Egypt Creativity Center, Fayoum Branch; Eng. Ghada Mansour, Representative of the Digital Egypt Creativity Center; and Mr. Ashraf Darwish, Head of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency. The session included discussions about the Digital Egypt Creativity Center, the scholarships and training programs available to students and graduates in a number of disciplines, as well as technology incubators and entrepreneurship. The center's role in supporting and financing ideas and providing advice to find innovative solutions for young people was also discussed. The adoption of ideas, training, and financing of medium, small, and micro enterprises, as well as methods for marketing and developing projects, were also discussed. The second session addressed "Financial and Non-Financial Services in the Banking Sector." During the session, Mr. Ashraf Samy, Deputy Director of the National Bank of Egypt's Fayoum Branch, and Mrs. Nancy Samir, Director of Banque Misr's Fayoum Branch, spoke about bank financing for small and medium-sized enterprises, project segments, and their benefits. They also highlighted the state and banking sector's adoption of industrial and agricultural project ideas, which differ from commercial investment projects with modest interest rates, to support local manufacturing.
During the event, a number of inspiring young entrepreneurs presented their successful experiences, which began with simple ideas and have evolved into projects with market value both inside and outside Egypt.
On the sidelines of the event, Prof. Assem El-Essawy also visited an exhibition for young graduates, which featured a number of small projects, including handicrafts, accessories, crochet, natural oils, and food and agricultural products.
At the conclusion, Prof. Assem El-Essawy honored and presented shields to the participants, supporters, and sponsors in appreciation.
