Training of Internal Evaluators for the Fayoum University Award for Internal Excellence 2025

Under the auspices of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, the university, in cooperation with the Egypt Government Excellence Award Administration at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, organized a training workshop for the internal evaluators of the Fayoum University Internal Excellence Award in its first edition 2025, headed by Prof. Arafa Sabry Gomaa Hassan, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies, Cultural Relations and Research and Head of the University’s Internal Awards Administration, and attended by Dr. Ziad Salah El-Din Mohamed, Head of the Evaluation Teams accredited by the Egypt Government Excellence Award, Prof. Masoud Ismail Masoud Shaheen, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Portal Director and Technology Support Officer of the University’s Internal Awards Team, Mrs. Hala El-Suwaifi, General Manager of Public Relations and Media and Operations and Logistics Support Officer of the Team, Mrs. Amira Hassan , Communications and Public Relations Officer of the Team, as well as the evaluators from the academic and administrative bodies of the university according to the standards set by the Egypt Government Excellence Award Administration, on Wednesday August 6, 2025, in the conference hall of the Faculty of Arts.
Prof. Arafa Sabry emphasized that the university administration is constantly striving for excellence, to become a fourth-generation university, in addition to being included in international rankings. Therefore, the Supreme Council of Universities launched the Internal Excellence Awards to achieve excellence and competition among faculties at the university level and across Egyptian universities.
He added that the training aims to prepare evaluators to study the requirements, standards, and evaluation mechanisms, which contributes to spreading the culture of excellence. He emphasized the importance of encouraging a spirit of participation, promoting innovation and creativity, and motivating everyone to raise performance levels and adhere to standards of quality and excellence.
He indicated that the university has trained excellence ambassadors and their deputies in the various faculties of the university, and the current training workshop was held to train the evaluators. He emphasized the award administration's commitment to providing all means of technical support to the university and monitoring its internal excellence journey at all technical stages, from qualifying internal evaluators, to final evaluation and arbitration, and approving the results. This is part of the effort to deepen this culture and contribute to achieving transparency, governance, and integrity across all stages of the award. The training aims to create a qualified group of evaluators within Fayoum University, ensuring the availability of cadres capable of applying institutional evaluation methodologies in accordance with the standards of the Government Excellence System.
The training program included an introduction to the axes of excellence, the evaluation structure and mechanisms, and the methodology for preparing evaluation reports. It also covered the evaluation stages, which include desk evaluation, shortlist preparation, field visits, and personal interviews, leading up to the stage of presenting the results to the judging committee.
This step comes within the framework of the award's plan to build institutional evaluation cadres within universities, enabling them to implement excellence awards independently and sustainably, contributing to performance development and achieving institutional excellence.
