Under the auspices of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, Prof. Sherif El-Attar, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, received Prof. Mohamed Ismail, Professor of Physics and Engineering Mathematics at Misr University for Informatics, and His Eminence Sheikh Ashraf Shaaban, Imam and Preacher of Montazah Mosque in Fayoum. The meeting was part of the Leadership Preparation Camp organized by the university under the title: "Youth Leadership in a Time of Challenges - Aware Youth... Strong Nation." The camp will be held from August 10 to 13, 2025, in the presence of Prof. Arafa Sabry, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Wael Tobar, General Coordinator of Student Activities, Mrs. Salwa Fouad, Director General of Youth Care, and a number of faculty and administrative staff members. The event was held on Monday, August 11, 2025, in the university's Grand Conference Hall. Prof. Sherif El-Attar explained that the university administration is keen to organize the camp annually, believing in the importance of providing opportunities for students to acquire leadership skills in various areas of life.

He explained that the camp program includes a number of lectures covering various topics, including: the security and strategic challenges facing the Egyptian state, the role of national awareness in protecting national security, technological awareness and cybersecurity, creating hope, leaders of tomorrow, and youth and leadership. 260 male and female students from various faculties of the university are participating in the camp.

Prof. Mohamed Ismail delivered a lecture titled "Youth of Today... Hope Makers and Leaders of Tomorrow," in which he addressed the characteristics of a successful leader, such as self-confidence, integrity, the ability to handle pressure, the importance of patience, decision-making, and assuming responsibility. He also urged students to manage their time effectively, learn the skills necessary for the job market, and practice critical and creative thinking, before listening to and answering their questions. Sheikh Ashraf Shaaban also delivered a lecture titled "Youth and Leadership - A Faith-Based Vision," in which he reviewed the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) approach to building young leaders. He addressed the five pillars of Islam and emphasized that Islam encompasses all aspects of life and pays special attention to youth. He pointed out that a successful leader must combine faith, reliance on God, taking necessary measures, academic achievement, high morals, and pride in national identity and belonging. He also addressed the duties of a leader, including developing plans, assigning roles, working for good, and being patient and eloquent, emphasizing that pleasing Allah is the foundation of success and giving.

At the conclusion of the event, Prof. Sherif El-Attar honored both Prof. Mohamed Ismail and His Eminence Sheikh Ashraf Shaaban, presenting them with the university's shield in appreciation of their efforts.
