Under the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, Prof. Naglaa El-Sherbiny, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, witnessed the closing of the annual training course titled "Quality Healthcare Services: Safety and Integrity." The course was attended by Mr. Shino Masao, Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Mrs. Ito Tomomi, representing JICA, and Dr. Ahmed El-Gezy, Health Program Officer. The course was held from July 27 to August 14, 2025, in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development (EAPD) of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata welcomed the participants, emphasizing that the cooperation between Fayoum University and JICA extends over several years, with the goal of improving patient care by providing high-quality services in a measurable and applicable manner.

Prof. Naglaa El-Sherbiny explained that the training course was structured as study modules. The program spanned three weeks, five days per week, and included theoretical lectures and practical applications through workshops and field visits to various hospitals. Seventeen participants were selected from eight African countries: Malawi, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Angola, Somalia, and Côte d'Ivoire. The training was delivered by a distinguished group of faculty members from Fayoum and Cairo Universities and the Ministry of Health.

The training course covered several topics, including: management principles and improving the work environment; the basic concepts of the 5S methodology, its tools, and implementation stages; healthcare financing and budgeting principles; project management and healthcare data management; communication skills; personnel management; team coordination; conflict management; and developing an action plan.

At the conclusion of the training, Prof. DNaglaa El-Sherbiny and Mr. Shino Masao distributed certificates of completion to the participants.
