The final day of the course, which was held from October 19 to 22, 2025, in the conference hall of the Faculty of Social Work, featured a lecture by Prof. Wafaa Yousry, Director of the University's Center for Public Service for Community Development, entitled "Strategic Planning: Keys to Institutional Success." The lecture was attended by a number of faculty members, administrators, and students participating in the course. During the lecture, Prof. Wafaa Yousry gave a comprehensive presentation on how to prepare a strategic planning document for educational institutions. The trainees were divided into four groups to implement the plan in practice, developing four real-world institutional plans. These included the Social Solidarity Directorate, the Education Directorate, the University's Center for People with Disabilities, and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She explained that the plans were developed in line with the reality of each institution, based on an analysis of the current situation and the identification of future goals.
He emphasized that formal strategic planning is an essential tool for determining what needs to be done in the future, given its ability to predict and prepare for challenges by analyzing the present and studying future trends, with the goal of setting clear goals and effective implementation methods according to a specific timetable.
She also indicated that strategic planning seeks to achieve alignment between the institution's resources and capabilities, on the one hand, and the surrounding environmental forces, on the other, by capitalizing on opportunities and avoiding threats. She explained that there are nine basic stages of the strategic planning process, including:
Forming a work team and defining powers and responsibilities; studying the institution's organizational culture; defining the vision, mission, and future goals; direct administrative participation and supervision; selecting a work plan and strategy; evaluating institutional performance; analyzing strengths and weaknesses; addressing potential risks; and then developing alternative scenarios and plans to address emergencies. This process is closely monitored, implemented, and monitored at each stage to ensure the plan's success.
At the conclusion of the lecture, Prof. Wafaa Yousry reviewed institutional growth strategies and provided a practical example of developing an integrated implementation plan that includes strategic objectives, proposed programs, and activities, while specifying responsibilities, implementing agencies, timelines, and quantitative monitoring and evaluation indicators. She emphasized that adherence to a scientific planning methodology is the foundation for achieving institutional excellence and leadership in performance.
