Fayoum University has achieved a ranking in the CWTS Leiden Ranking, one of the most prestigious global rankings for measuring university research performance. The ranking results show Fayoum University advancing to 1868th place out of 2773 globally, a jump of 21 places from its ranking last year. It also ranked 19th among Egyptian universities.

It is worth noting that the Leiden Ranking Open Access relies on research published in the OpenAlex database and in the top 1%, 5%, 10%, and 50% of global journals. The ranking also utilizes a set of bibliometric indicators that provide university-level statistics on scientific impact, collaboration, and publication in open access journals.
