Under the patronage of Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata, President of Fayoum University, and the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Saeed Abu El-Ghar, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Fayoum University contributed to the celebration of World Earth Day, by lighting the university administration building in green, throughout the day, on Thursday, April 21, 2022 and Friday, April 22, 2022, from eight to nine in the evening.

It is worth noting that World Earth Day falls on Friday, April 22nd.

Prof. Yasser Magdy Hatata explained that this procedure is in line with what was approved by the Greater Cairo Universities Alliance, including Fayoum University, and aims to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the environment, activating the university’s role in preserving it, raising the level of social responsibility, and participating in reducing environmental pollution.

For his part, Prof. Mohamed Saeed Abu El-Ghar indicated that World Earth Day is an international celebration held annually in a large number of countries in recognition of the collective responsibility towards the land, through which the call to preserve the land, reconciliation with nature and its biodiversity, and affirming the role of the individual and society is emphasized to participate in the preservation of the planet.
